Vote the Court
Under George W. Bush, the Supreme Court has veered sharply to the right, threatening the rights and liberties that Americans hold dear. Had it not been for the support of far-right and “moderate” Senators, Bush’s nominees to the Court — Samuel Alito and John Roberts — could have been blocked.
The radical right recognizes the importance of the Courts, and they demand that their candidates support the confirmation of far-right ideologues to the federal bench.
It’s time that progressives started targeting the courts as well.
The Voters Alliance is holding Senators responsible for their support of far-right judicial nominees, and for the devastating effect those nominees will have on our nation. We also support candidates who pledge to support fair-minded judges and to oppose those who are outside the legal mainstream.
Taking back the Supreme Court will be a long process, but the 2008 elections are our best opportunity to stop the erosion and build for the future.
